Shri RAJEEV BHARGAVA has taken over as additional charge of General
Manager of South Western Railway in the forenoon of Wednesday, the
13thNovember, 2013, from Shri A.K. Mital, who has been appointed as
Member(Staff), Railway Board, New Delhi. Shri Mitalhas also taken over
charge for his new post of Member(Staff), Railway Board, New Delhi on 13th Nov.2013.
Shri Rajeev Bhargava is presently working as General Manager, Rail Wheel Factory(RWF), Yelhanka, Bangalore from 05th December, 2011. General Manager, SWRpost is an additional charge post for Shri Rajveev Bhargava, apart from his original post of General Manager/Rail Wheel Factory(RWF), Yelhanka, Bangalore.
Shri Rajeev Bhargava, a topper of Roorkee Engineering College, had stood first at the All India Engineering Service Examination conducted by UPSC.He joined Indian Railway Service of Civil Engineering during the year 1974.
During his service, Shri Rajeev Bhargavahas held key posts like Additional Member(Works), Railway Board, New Delhi, Additional Director General of RDSO, Lucknow, Chief Administrative Officer(Construction), East Central Railway, Patna, Principal Chief Engineer, South Central Railway and Divisional Railway Manager, Jhansi Division.He was also Dean of Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering, Pune.
Shri Rajeev Bhargava was instrumental in converting the on-going work of Rail Bridge on river Ganga at Patna, into Rail-cum-Road Bridge.He had undergone initial training of track maintenance for 3 months in Japan.
Shri Rajeev Bhargava had written about 21 articles on various subjects on maintenance of assets.Because of his technical expertise, Shri Rajeev Bhargava was asked to draft the Permanent Way Manual(PWM) for Indian Railways.
